What exactly is CRO and why does it matter?

CRO is the practice of improving what happens after someone arrives on your site — making it more likely they'll buy, sign up, or take whatever action matters to your business. Most businesses focus on getting more traffic, but if your site converts at 1% and a competitor converts at 3%, they're getting three times the revenue from the same traffic. CRO closes that gap without increasing your ad spend.

How do you figure out what's stopping people from converting?

We use a combination of quantitative and qualitative data analytics to show us where visitors drop off, heatmaps to show us where they click and scroll, session recordings to watch real browsing behaviour, and sometimes user testing. Together these tell us not just that people are leaving, but why which is the only way to fix the right things.

Is CRO just about changing button colours and headlines?

That's a common misconception. While small changes like button colour or headline copy can make a difference, meaningful CRO goes much deeper page structure, navigation clarity, trust signals, checkout flow, mobile experience, form length, page speed. The changes that move the needle most are usually structural, not cosmetic.

How much traffic do we need before CRO makes sense?

There's no hard minimum, but A/B testing specifically requires enough traffic to reach statistically meaningful results generally at least a few hundred visitors per variation per week. For lower-traffic sites, we focus on qualitative methods (heatmaps, session recordings, expert review) to identify and fix the most obvious friction points without needing large sample sizes.
